a few of my favourite photos of UWO

The best thing about visiting somewhere new is you never know what you would find. University of Western Ontario is way smaller than the University of Toronto. It is about the size of King's College Circle. Basically one round, and you are done! But the buildings are a whole different story. I still remember the awe I felt when I first visited Knox College when I went to UT for the first time. I felt that exact awe when I saw the interior of UWO buildings. The fact that there's barely any students around make shooting so much easier. I wanted to see the buildings, just the buildings alone. The sunlight was shining through the windows in exactly that perfect angle to give everything it touches a shiny and warm glow. Strange enough I didn't manage to come across the Science departments. The buildings I visited were mainly for the Arts. Maybe that's why they have that glow?

June 9th, 2009. That castle tower reminds strongly of University College at the University of Toronto. Does every University in Ontario has that?

June 9th, 2009. Thames River.

June 9th, 2009.

June 9th, 2009. Love the details on the door. Love the lighting. Love the shapes.

June 9th, 2009. Yes, it's heavily photoshopped.

June 9th, 2009.

June 9th, 2009. This was the sight that greeted me when I walked in. I was awestruck. It was breathtaking. The only thing lacking in this photo is a bride in a white elegant gown walking down the stairs gracefully. Ah...I wish I'm a wedding photographer.

June 9th, 2009. Like I said, the sun was shining at that perfect angle. Love the window panes. Love the stairs. Love the whole composition. I love the smell too. It was not mouldy smell that I would usually associate with a century old building. It was that distinctively nostalgic smell that brings back memories. Memories that I didn't remember. Memories of Belgium. Memories of Year 1. Memories of those good old years.

June 9th, 2009. This auditorium....was............spectacular. Look at those window panes. UT didn't have that!!!!

June 9th, 2009. This reminded me a bit of Gerstein Library. But....Gerstein has much better tables, chairs, and table lamps :P

London just got a lot more fun :)

Hope you has fun looking at these photos. Hopefully as much fun as I had taking them :D

cheers~~

Day 87

2009

Sometimes, the focus should not just be the future. You should know your present too.

It shouldn't just be the things in front of you, but those beside you as well.

261th day of 2008

2008.

Time really flies. Yes, it is an old cliche. But sometimes I really wonder where did all the time go to. A day simply just passes by before I even realize.

I know it's not the end of the year yet, but a good part of the year has already flown by. What have I done for this year?

Well...I did get graduated. But what now? Where is it going? When would I start moving?

daisies

2008.

2008.

the daisies in the backyard is growing like crazy. cos my mom is kinda relentless on putting fertilizers till i scared her with what i learnt in class about organophosphates and organochlorines. (lol..smtimes its really quite useful..of what i learn i mean ;P)

those daisies are still growing like crazy though...they are already to my mid-drift. Are daisies supposed to grow till so tall?!?

but they look so pure. so happy. so strong.

i simply adore black and white photos.
they give that certain je ne sais quoi.....

the flowers are in full bloom everywhere now in Toronto.
How lovely how lovely.

If only Toronto has weather like this all year round :)

the imperfections of this world

Why do roses have thorns?
cos nothing is perfect in this world.

bleeding love

2008.

recently really stuck on the song by Leona Lewis "Bleeding Love" Pretty nice :) check it out!

"But something happened
For the very first time with you
My heart melts into the ground
Found something true
And everyone's looking round
Thinking I'm going crazy

But I don't care what they say
I'm in love with you
They try to pull me away
But they don't know the truth
My heart's crippled by the vein
That I keep on closing
You cut me open and I"

purity

2008.

I love flowers that look pure.
I think they have a certain quality of sincerity...

My Dad often associate white flowers with mortality...

so different...

so interesting :)

fly

If you don't ever let go...it's never ever going to fly. Instead, it'll wither in your hands

145th of 366

going for drama here.

black and white series.

Shades of grey wherever I go

The more I find out the less that I know

Black and white is how it should be

But shades of grey are the colors I see.”

Freedom...is an evanescent, intangent thing. It cannot last forever, and it is not something that one can reach out for and grasp in one's hands...So what are we to think, except that freedom truly is a privilege? And privileges...can be given just as easily as they can be taken away

i love green

sunshine! blue sky! green grass!

with the advent of summer, comes the parting of ways.
4 years of undergrad has finally ended, and we shall all embark on our own individual paths again.

but, nevertheless, I'm sure we'll meet again somewhere, somehow, sometime in the near future :)

afterall... we only part to meet again
