GRADE 9!! WHAT!!!!

2008.

my mom's student thinks I am just grade 9.

not too sure what to feel about it. Ambivalent about it.

One side is going, OMG!! I look so young? Must be my youthful glowwwww.

The other side is going, WHAT THE HECK?!?! These chibis (translate: small kids) know NOTHING. How could I just look Grade 9?!?!!?!? Are they saying I'm one of them!?! I'm one head taller than you yo!

Beautiful photos by Others

Sometimes I get stuck with ideas for photo-taking. Sometimes I find that I become so comfortable with taking a certain subject that I would continuously take it, only to find repetitive photos in my photo albums.

Looking at other people's photos is a source of inspiration for me. They make me feel guilty of the narrow scope I see through my camera lens. They make me feel in awe of their skills, and the emotions they evoke through their photographs. They make me realize the so many things I am lacking in.

Here's a bunch of photos that I really like!!

as the fall comes, they disappear

2008.

2008.

As the fall comes, these fluff balls gets dispersed carried by the wind and fly to places far far away, away from Home.

As next summer comes, they shall bloom again into cheerful little yellow flowers only to cause allergies to millions of ppl :P

Everything good does have a bad side too huh?

let's go round and round and never stop

Wonderland. September 2008.

this ride is definitely not the scary sort. But it's very enjoyable. It's colorful. It goes round and round and round. It gives a chance for the kids to wave to the mother everytime they pass her by, as they nudge the Daddy that sat beside them on the ride. You can see the smiles on their faces, and the exhilaration they get as the mini rollercoaster brings them up and down, up and down, and round and round.

261th day of 2008

2008.

Time really flies. Yes, it is an old cliche. But sometimes I really wonder where did all the time go to. A day simply just passes by before I even realize.

I know it's not the end of the year yet, but a good part of the year has already flown by. What have I done for this year?

Well...I did get graduated. But what now? Where is it going? When would I start moving?

OCAD

OCAD. Spring. Toronto. 2008.

I promised more colourful photos! and here they are :)

I realized that I enjoy walking downtown because there are simply so many things to see. Things around downtown Toronto is cluttered, noisy, colourful. Things are simply happening everywhere, every corner you turn. Things around uptown is so much more scattered. And thats why they have a more peaceful nature.

vell...everybody needs some excitement (well not THAT exciting) in their life right?

luffluff~~

far far away land

Elm. Toronto. 2008.

Yes, in a way, Elm is far far away land. Not just in terms of distance, but in terms of time as well.

another walk around Yorkville

Yorkville. Toronto. 2008.

Found a little heaven tucked away in between narrow streets. Lots of tables and chair around for you to sit and sip your ice-blended mocha, and catch up to the latest gossips with your favourite girl friends.

Gosh too many black and white photos. Hope that would be kinda the last black and white photo for a while. While I simply LOVE black and white photos, because they exude a certain something more than coloured photos, but there is always a certain darkness lurking around. Maybe because of all the darkness that is lurking around my heart these days. So hopefully I can take more coloured one :)

Here! Cheers to a brighter, better, and more colourful tomorrow~~

a different view of yorkville

Yorkville is somewhere posh, somewhere high-end, somewhere glittery of boutiques and car show rooms in the midst of somewhere commercial, somewhere urban, somewhere with homeless people, lots of cars and noise pollution. It's like a quiet place that all the rich people go and hide themselves admist all the craziness you get from daily lives.

the moon, the clouds, the stars

17th Aug 2008

Created using PS CS2.

The universe is something that has held my interest for a long time. Have you ever wondered how vast it is? What is really out there?

Would you feel at peace with the world when you are out there?

merry-go-round

2008.

They are beautiful.
They go round and round, yet everytime a kid on it passes by his parents, he would never fail to wave at them. And his parents would always wave back.

Interesting?

I think so :)

daisies

2008.

2008.

the daisies in the backyard is growing like crazy. cos my mom is kinda relentless on putting fertilizers till i scared her with what i learnt in class about organophosphates and organochlorines. (lol..smtimes its really quite useful..of what i learn i mean ;P)

those daisies are still growing like crazy though...they are already to my mid-drift. Are daisies supposed to grow till so tall?!?

but they look so pure. so happy. so strong.

Union GO station at night

2008.

no edits were done for the photos.

I always loved (still loving :P) Toronto at night. I feel that it gives a different feel when all the lights around the roads and inside apartments are on. It's more quiet than the downtown in the day, yet it doesn't have that pin-drop silence that now I'm getting all too familiar with in uptown.

2008.

i simply adore black and white photos.

the flowers are in full bloom everywhere now in Toronto.
How lovely how lovely.

If only Toronto has weather like this all year round :)

bleeding love

2008.

recently really stuck on the song by Leona Lewis "Bleeding Love" Pretty nice :) check it out!

"But something happened
For the very first time with you
My heart melts into the ground
Found something true
And everyone's looking round
Thinking I'm going crazy

But I don't care what they say
I'm in love with you
They try to pull me away
But they don't know the truth
My heart's crippled by the vein
That I keep on closing
You cut me open and I"

purity

2008.

I love flowers that look pure.
I think they have a certain quality of sincerity...

My Dad often associate white flowers with mortality...

so different...

so interesting :)

by the road-side

2008.

by the road-side, it stood steadfast and strong.

“All of life is a journey which paths we take, what we look back on, and what we look forward to is up to us. We determine our destination, what kind of road we will take to get there, and how happy we are when we get there.”

fly

Shades of grey wherever I go

The more I find out the less that I know

Black and white is how it should be

But shades of grey are the colors I see.”

Freedom...is an evanescent, intangent thing. It cannot last forever, and it is not something that one can reach out for and grasp in one's hands...So what are we to think, except that freedom truly is a privilege? And privileges...can be given just as easily as they can be taken away

i love green

sunshine! blue sky! green grass!

with the advent of summer, comes the parting of ways.
4 years of undergrad has finally ended, and we shall all embark on our own individual paths again.

but, nevertheless, I'm sure we'll meet again somewhere, somehow, sometime in the near future :)

afterall... we only part to meet again

a walk to remember

till this day this is still one of my favourite photos that I'd taken.
two people were walking in front of me.
their shadows following dutifully behind them.
with the Sun playing up the story behind them.

I don't know who they are, yet I've to thank them for the wonderful opportunity they had presented me with.

I also remember, it was a beautiful and gorgeous afternoon.

It was indeed a walk to remember.
